FITZ-ALEYN

Alan, son of Flatbald, obtained the Castle of Oswaldstre from the Conqueror, and is probably the soldier whose name is in the Roll of Battle. From him derived the illustrious House of Fitz-Alan, so distinguished under the title of Arundel.
