BLUNDEL.
The family of Blunden, Blundel or Blondel were seated in Lancashire from the time of the conquest, where they were lords of Ince Blundell. They came to England in the train of William Malet, and William Blondel still held three knights' fees under the honour of the Malets at Eye in 1165. A branch were barons of Edenderry, viscounts of Blundell in Ireland. The name is recorded on the rolls of Holinshed, Duchesne, Leland, Brompton and Scriven.
