GUILLAUME DU BOSC.

Guillaume de Bois or Bosc, of Caux, possessed estates in 1086 in Essex. The family held lands in South Elmham from the time of the conquest, as appears by a suit at Ipswich in 1285. There were numerous branches of the Bois family which appear to have come to England about the period of the invasion, of which le sire de Bosc-Roard was one. Delisle carries the name of Guillaume du Bosc on the Dives roll.
