BRYAN.
The great baronial house of Bryan became extinct, in the male line, at the death, in 1390, of Guy de Bryan, Baron Bryan, K.G., who served as standard bearer to Edward III. in the celebrated fight with the French at Calais. This potent noble left two grand-daughters, his co-heirs, viz., PHILIPPA, who married 1st, John Devereux; and 2nd, Sir Henry le Scrope, Knt.; but died a.p.; and ELIZABETH, wife of Sir Robert Lovell, Knt.
