ADAM FITZ DURAND.

From Maloures, or Malesoures, near Saint-Brieux, in Brittany. Durand de Malesoure lived c. 1040 and had two sons, who came to England in 1066, named Adam Fitz Durand, a tenant-in-chief in Essex in 1086, and Fulcher de Maloure. The name Durand occurs on the rolls of Duchesne, Holinshed and Leland. Fulcher possessed in barony in Rutland as well as Walgrove in Northamptonshire from the countess Judith in 1086; from whence the Walgrave family. The name is carried on the rolls of Holinshed and Brompton.
