Bonneville-sur-Touques

Bonneville-sur-Touques is a commune of the Calvados département , in the Basse-Normandie région in France. It was a favourite residence of the dukes of Normandy, where it appears that the expedition for the conquest of England was determined on in 1066. The earliest account of the circumstances under which Harold's oath was taken, written before 1071, places it, not at Bayeux, but at Bonneville-sur- Touques .
