Bootes

Bootes "Hunter of the Great Bear", accompanied by his two dogs Asterion and Chara. Once known as Arctophylax "protector of the Bear".

In Homer's Odyssey Book V, Odysseus sailed his ship by the stars, using the Pleiades, the Bear, and Bootes to navigate by.
Bootes was also said to be "Icarus", the Athenian who taught the world how to make wine and whose daughter Erigone is represented in the heavens as Virgo.

The main star of Bootes is Arcturus, the sixth brightest star.
Arcturus was used to in 1934 to open the Chicago world Fair by shining on a photoelectric cell.
