LE SIRE D'ORIGNY.
Wace (l.1705), chronicles "cil de Urinie." It is supposed that he intended to mention Origny, of which there are two communes in Normandy, one near Belesme, the other near Mamers. The sire d'Origny who attended the conquest is another of those obscure personages whom it is difficult to locate, especially as his name does not appear in Domesday. He must, therefore, pending further information, be classed among those who died at the conquest and who left no known posterity.
