A building acts as a scene divider as Harold’s army makes their way south. They departed from York on the morning of 1st October and arrived in London on the 5th October. Morcar’s small fleet of ships and also a number of the captured Viking ships were deployed south as well. Harold spent a further five days in London before he had sufficient troop to undertake the attack on the invading Norman army. In the upper border appears the rune Mannaz. This rune is associated with foresight and so this rune is represented by the hawk. The appearance of this rune suggests caution and to take time considering ones options.
