More scenes of attack and more Englishmen fall. Here a blow is struck to the axe wielding Englishman. A number of drawing errors occur throughout the tapestry. Notice here how the knight is sitting on the horses neck with his feet on the ground and his right leg on the far side of the horse. More archers are depicted in the lower border. Errand de Harcourt commanded the archers at the Battle of Hastings, but returned to Normandy in 1078 and probably died soon after. His younger brother, Robert, who accompanied him to the conquest, was the ancestor of the distinguished House of Harcourt.
