Hardrada and Tostig continue their journey down the coast. Notice the oar holes on the Viking longships are on the second strake down. The English longships have the oar holes on the top strake and have a cutaway top strake. The oar holes on the Norman ships are on the top strake with a continuous top strake. In the top border we see the Norse symbol of the solar cross. It is also known as Woden's cross and has been used in Europe since the Neolithic era. In the lower border we have from Celtic Mythology Dylan Eil Ton, Sea Son of Wave. Dylan is riding a dolphin and it is taken to be the vestige of an ancient Celtic God.
