The raven banner or ‘Land Waster’ of Harald Hardrada flies over the battlefield. The banner, carried by Fridrek, may have symbolized Odin the Norse God of war, who was often depicted accompanied by two ravens named Huginn and Muninn. In the lower border the three money bags are representative of St. Mathew’s position as the patron saint of tax collectors. In the top border the dog attacking the bull represents good triumphing over evil. Chaos is overcome to ensure order remains intact.
