Ardmaddy, a seat of the Earl of Breadalbane on the coast, 10 miles south-south-west of Oban, Argyleshire.

In 1620, the existing castle was burned down and was rebuilt by the Campbells in 1671. The present building dates from the 18th and 19th centuries. Nowadays, Ardmaddy is well-known for its attractive gardens. The gardens here, famous for rhododendrons, are open to the public. They extend up the glen to the right from the castle.
