Ballinlough Castle

Situated in an area of County Westmeath, near the rural town of Clonmellon is Ballinlough Castle. This old castle is perched upon a hill overlooking two of the Westmeath lakes. The 17th century castle is the home of Sir John and Lady Nugent. The gardens have been under restoration since 1994, and are now open to the public, together with the lakeside and woodland walks.

The grounds of the castle are available to host concerts, with Tiesto playing in August 2008. The 4th annual Life Festival was also held in the grounds of Ballinlough Castle in May 2009.
