In MILLOW the Bishop of Durham holds 4 1/2 hides from the King. Land for 4

acquired; before 1066, 60s. King Edward gave this land to the Church of Holy
Cross of Waltham, as the men of the Hundred testify.

Abbot Baldwin of St Edmund's has 1/2 hide in BIDDENHAM. Ordwy of Bedford holds
it under him. Land for 1/2 plough; it is there. 2 slaves. Meadow for 1/2 plough.
The value is and was 6s. Wulfmer, a priest of King Edward's, held this land; he
could grant to whom he would. But Ordwy of Bedford took it from him when he was
reeve of the borough, for a forfeiture; he now says that he holds it from the
Abbot of St Edmund's, but the men of the Hundred state that he has appropriated
it wrongfully.

In the Hundred of BIGGLESWADE

The Abbot of St Edmund's also holds KINWICK. It answers for 3 hides and 3
virgates. Land for 4 ploughs. In lordship 1 hide and 3 virgates; 2 ploughs
there. 6 villagers have 2 ploughs. 1 mill at 13s 4d; meadow for 1 plough. Value
60s; when acquired 30s; before 1066 4. 2 Freemen held this land; they could
grant to whom they would. After 1066 Earl Waltheof and his wife Countess Judith
gave it to St Edmund's in alms.

woodland, 200 pigs. In total, value 10; the same when acquired; before 1066
12. This manor always lay in the lands of St Benedict's Church. With this manor
the Abbot of Ramsey claims against Nigel of Aubigny and Walter of Flanders 12
acres of meadow which lay there before 1066, but John of Les Roches dispossessed
him wrongfully, and this the Hundred testifies.

lordship 2 hides; 2 ploughs there; a third possible. 37 villagers have 11

In WYBOSTON Eudo the steward holds 1 1/2 virgates under the Abbot of Ramsey. It
has been laid waste; value however 16d. This land was in the lands of St
Benedict's Church before 1066.

In BIGGLESWADE Hundred

In [Little] BARFORD Eudo the steward holds 5 hides from the Abbot's Holding and
Osbern from him. Land for 5 ploughs. In lordship 1 plough. 9 villagers have 4
ploughs. 4 smallholders and 3 slaves. 1 mill, 12s and 125 eels; meadow for 2
ploughs. Value 4; when acquired 3; before 1066, 4. The Abbot of St Benedict's
holds this manor. It was there, in alms, before 1066.

In CLIFTON Hundred

In CLIFTON Leofwin of Caddington holds 1 hide under the Abbot. Land for 1/2
plough; it is there. Meadow for 1/2 plough. The value is and was 10s; before
1066, 20s. He held it himself then, but could not separate it from the Church.
